Andrey Nikolaevich Shilder is a russian painter and son of a painter. He worked in the field of landscape painting and scenography. Ivan Shishkin was his teacher (from 1878 on).
  Shilder lived in St. Petersburg. In 1880, he was awarded the Society for Encouragement of Artists’ First Prize for his Fog in the Mountains, and in 1883 the Academy of Arts decorated him with the Small Medal of Encouragement. In 1903, he became the Academy’s full member as landscape painter. First exhibited in 1883, he participated in exhibitions of the Academy, the All-Russian ones, those of the Moving Art Exhibitions
  Association, etc. Shilder the author of the Nobel Works panorama shown in the All-Russian Exhibition in Nizhniy Novgorod in 1896.
  In Shilder’s landscape paintings, he drew on the motifs of his teacher Shishkin. The artist’s works are in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the Russian Museum, in museums of Astrakhan, Kursk, Nizhniy Novgorod, Taganrog, Rostov, Kostroma, and other cities.
